All kinds except those listed not allowed.

Bread (High-protein whole Wheat, Multi-Grain), English Muffins, Matzos, Flour (white, whole wheat), Pumpernickel, Pasta (Semolina, Spinach), Wheat Bran Muffins.

These beverages help to improve the immune systems for Type As. Aloe, Alfalfa, Burdock, Echinacea, Green tea, Hawthorn, Red Wine (1 glass per day).

These beverages help Type As to increase their stomach-acid secretions. Ginger, Slippery elm, Coffee (1 cup per day).

These don't suit the digestive system of Type As, nor do they support the immune system.

Beer, Black Tea, Distilled Liquor, Seltzer Water, Soda.


These products should be avoided because Type As have low levels of stomach acid.

Ketchup, Mayonnaise, Pickles, Relish, Worcestershire Sauce.

Dairy Products

Most dairy products are not digestible for Type As.

Goat cheese, Goat milk, Feta, Kefir, Mozzarella, Ricotta, String Cheese, Yogurt.

All other cheeses and milk.


Type As respond well to oils.

Canola Oil, Cod Liver Oil.

Corn Oil, Cottonseed Oil, Peanut Oil, Safflower Oil.

Most fruits are allowed for Type As, although try to emphasize more alkaline fruits can help to balance the grains that are acid forming in Type As muscle tissues.
